Language certificates for international exchange programmes (Erasmus, ISEP, bilateral exchanges) and internships (AIESEC, CIMO, Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

The University of Jyväskylä students requiring a Language Proficiency Report (LPR) for international study purposes, or international internships, should contact senior lecturer Lisa Lahtela lisa.lahtela@jyu.fi. A charge of 40 euros is required for LPR testing. Some exchange universities might demand an internationally recognized and more comprehensive test such as TOEFL or IELTS. This LPR test is not designed to give a more in-depth evaluation. Please check with your international exchange programme coordinator if there are any doubts.

NOTE: If you are studying in an International English MA program you should send your TOEFL/IELTS/CAE/CPE or other validated test results if they are less than two years old.

The Language Proficiency test is composed of two parts: a written test and an oral discussion with a listening comprehension component. These are designed to reveal your level of proficiency in general academic English for exchange study abroad. The LPR test will be administered if possible in coordination with the various exchange programmes’ deadlines. The oral testing is done, if possible, in pairs from the same discipline.
