Language Centre

Teaching and learning

Our primary task is to provide the academic language and communication instruction required for all university degrees. These include studies

  • in the mother tongue (scientific writing and speech communication)
  • in the second national language (usually Swedish), and
  • in one or two foreign language(s).

Contact teaching is given in 12 languages and independent language learning opportunities are available in over 30 languages. If you are unsure about what is involved in independent language learning or how it can be done, use the Independent Learner's Section of our Kielikompassi to learn more!
