The aim of the Language Centre is for all students to develop multilingual academic communication competences so that they can engage in expert communication in all the languages they need, both during their studies and after graduation.

The Language Centre’s currently largest pedagogical development project is UVK' – new, integrated structures for communication and language courses – in which the compulsory communication and language courses of bachelor’s degrees have been integrated into major subject studies. Our  INTEGRA project develops an educational model that integrates university language and content studies for immigrants who have completed or are qualified for higher education and aim to finish their interrupted degree studies or complement a prior degree in Finland. The Language Centre launched a Care and Reading Dog Project in spring 2018.
